Contemporary Christian Music can be uplifting.

When I listen to contemporary Christian music I can sing along and feel a bit closer to God throughout my day.

I enjoy making it a part of my day, but it wasn't always this way.

Several years ago, I was driving along with my radio playing, mindlessly singing the words to the song coming through the speakers. The song had a catchy beat and I had sung the words many times but lately it was starting to bother me. Some of the words did not align with my morals and belief system. I wish I could say it was just that particular song, but it wasn't. There were several which caused me to question my choice in music. I began thinking about how I would feel if God were sitting next to me in the car. Would I still be singing that song? I knew the answer.

I started searching for a new station, but nothing felt right. Nothing left me feeling the way I wanted to feel. I was looking for something upbeat and positive. I wanted the kind of music that would encourage me on days when I needed encouragement and offer me something more than just mind-numbing lyrics with no real meaning. I wanted to listen to contemporary Christian music.

I had no idea if there was anything in our area that fit the description. I turned to Facebook and within just a few minutes of asking my friends, I had the answer.

JOY FM in St. Louis plays music and songs that lift me up when I am down. The station brings a bit of light into my day. Who doesn’t need more light when the world around us has so much darkness?

While the station is located within the St. Louis area, it can be heard by anyone anywhere. You can listen live with your computer or download the app to your phone and carry it with you wherever you go.

Some of the artists I enjoy listening to on JOY FM include Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Toby Mac, Jars of Clay, MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, Michael W. Smith, and For King and Country. If you like these artists, give the station a try.

JOY FM is a breath of fresh air, and I am so happy to be able to share it with you! If you live in the St, Louis area you can find the station at 99.1. If you can’t pick the station up that isn’t a problem. Click the link below and listen live or add the app to your phone, make it a part of your day.

I have no affiliation with the station. I just feel as if the world needs more joy right now.
