Have you are someone you know been struggling to read the Bible due to small lettering and eye strain? Is it time to think about getting a Bible with extra larger print and protecting your eyes?
If you are like me you have a personal relationship with your Bible and replacing it isn’t something you want to do. However, just like me you might have reached a point of needing to replace your Bible for the sake of your eyesight. As comfortable as you might be with your well-worn Bible, it might be time to choose something that is easier to read and doesn’t put a strain on your eyes. A Bible with extra large print might be the answer.
After doing some research I settled on this New King Jame version published by Thomas Nelson, with extra large print. When I say extra large, I mean 17 point, which is the largest have ever seen. I have settled into a nice routine with my new Bible over the last and I love it!
It is easy on my eyes and allows me to read my Bible for longer without putting a strain on them.
This is not a small Bible, at 7.4” x 10.7 and weighing a little over 3 pounds, but the size has not been a problem. I carry it to church every week and it easily sits on my lap during personal Bible study at home.
Some of the features include the words of Jesus in red letter, a concordance, cross references, full color maps, and a ribbon marker to keep your place.
I also ordered index tabs to help me find scriptures a little faster. I love the colors and their large print becomes part of the eyestrain solution rather than part of the problem.
If you or someone you know is in need of a large print Bible, I highly recommend this NKJV Giant Print Bible. The Bible index tabs are also a great choice. Gifting a large print Bible to an elderly family member might make reading the Bible a little more comfortable for them.

With age my eyes have been giving me some trouble and I know a Bible with larger print would make things easier. Thank you for sharing this information!
My eyes are young-ish, but due to some health issues, eye strain is a frequent problem. I upgraded to the same Bible in giant print (12 point, I think) and I, also, have felt a sense of relief from a reduction in straining my eyes. Our eyes are such a bundle of nerves, it really is noticeable when they find relief! Thank you for the wise advice!
