Bringing home that beautiful little bundle from the hospital, as the newest addition to your family, is a true blessing from above. Parents fall in love with their little ones, make plans for the future, and look forward to many years of creating memories. We pray for our children's safety and ask their Father in Heaven to lead and guide them in the decisions they make throughout life. Praying is great but we also need to be proactive in providing children safe places to live and grow within.
No one wants to think about their child facing life altering injuries or even death due to an accident within the home. As parents, it us up to us to prepare for the unforeseen and protect our children from possible accidents. But accidents do happen, no matter how prepared we think we might be. Hopefully they are minor, and our children learn to be more careful in the way they interact with the world around them. However, there are those accidents which can rock the world of a family, leaving them wondering how they will cope or move forward.
It is important for parents and caregivers to take precautions and at times reevaluate the safety of the children in their care. This pamphlet, titled Childproofing Your House 101: Safety Information for Young Children, Infants & Toddlers covers several topics and areas of the home to evaluate when considering the safety of young children.
Window and Door Safety
Furniture Safety
Kitchen Safety
Preventing Falls at Home
Household Products and Poisoning Prevention
Bathroom Safety
Home Fire Injury Safety
Toy Safety
Defective Products and Recalls
While the home is a very real concern when it comes to children and their safety, this pamphlet also discusses ways to protect children in the school environment, while traveling in a vehicle, or even out and about within the community.
We all want our children to be safe. We say prayers for their safety at home and away but when we are proactive in providing them safer places to live, play, and learn within, we show them our love in action and how much they mean to us.
